Getting in close

Suddenly, it seems like  there are tulips outside every other shop on my route between home and work.  Crisp, colourful blooms on graceful, curved stems.  Ok, not literally every other shop, but today I passed two florists, a corner store, grocery store and pharmacy that all had buckets of tulips for sale. I couldn’t resist…. these ones came home with me.

Love the tiny ruffles on the edges of the petals, and the strokes of orange and yellow that look painted on. That’s one of the things I love about my camera…. sometimes, taking pictures close up, it sort of makes you stop and really notice the details.

  1. Absolutely exquisite! Look at the orange in the last photo, it looks like you’ve taken your watercolour brush and dropped it into fresh, clean water 🙂 Beautiful xx

  2. Wonderful eye for color and movement within a still photograph. One can almost feel the flower blooming. Spring is on it’s way! Beautiful!!

  3. Lovely photography Kate! I love all the crisp, clear detail – lovely!
